Fish Report

Fish

What is the approximate amount of fish in the ocean? My thoughts are 5 billion, including whales,  sharks, dolphins etc. Due to global warming those numbers are unfortunately dropping, because the corals or something they live in/on are dying.

How do we save fish? My personal solution would be to stop littering and ban the use of plastic bags, make less pollution and use a little bit less electrical stuff.

Will the Pacific garbage patch ever get cleared up? No-one knows if it will ever get cleared up but I’ve thought up an idea to clear it: Get lots of barges with sweepers to clear it.

Why are Fish important? The reason fish are so important is because they keep our oceans and seas alive and blue. Fish also provide food for us and animals to live healthy and happy. A lot of the tie without knowing fish actually interest us eg: David Attenborough shows. Just think if there were no fish you couldn’t go fishing or do other fun experiences like that.

When were fish Discovered? Ostracoderms (shell-skinned) are any of several groups of extinct, primitive, jawless fishes that were covered in an armour of bony plates. They appeared in the Cambrian, about 510 million years ago, and became extinct towards the end of the Devonian, about 377 million years ago.

Athletics

This week we had athletics. We had 6 events which were 100m and 200m, sprint shotput, discus, high jump and long jump. I participated in all the events and came 4th out of 8 in the first division 100m sprints and 5th out of 8 in first division 200m sprints. My high score in the high jump is 1.28m but I failed on 1.25m today. My high score in the long jump is 4.01m but today I got 3.75m. Last year I won discus but this year there are a lot better people so I came like 7th out of all the Hillary boys. I might be on the Hillary relay team too.

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to you as you are now my new country leader and wanting to negotiate about some problems that we have in this country.
The first problem is the poverty around the country every street I walk I’ll always see at least one homeless person sitting cold, hungry and just longing for a home. A way to fix this is to lower the housing prices and lower the tax rates because they are just too high!

Healthy Diet
(mihi) Tena Koutou Tena Koutou Tena Koutou Katoa Ko te mata Te Maunga Ko tuki tuki te awa Ko Heather Te waka Ko Ngati Kahanunu Te Iwi  Ko Louie Reid Tuku Ingoa Tena koutou Tena Koutou tena tatou katou

Hi, my name is Louie and today I will be convincing you to have a healthy diet. Developing healthy eating habits isn't as confusing or as restrictive as many people imagine. The essential steps are to eat mostly foods that come from plants—vegetables, fruits, whole grains,  beans, peas, lentils—and limit highly processed foods.

Having a healthy diet is key in life because if you don’t have a healthy diet the outcomes can be terrible, here are some of the things that can happen to you: obesity, tooth decay, you can become blind, diabetes, heart failure, heart problems and so much more bad things.

It’s alright to have sugar but too much can be very bad. What’s good about a healthy diet is the potential outcomes can be living longer, your fit, active and you can become muscle.  One of the most common rules to having a healthy diet is to eat 5+ fruits and veg a day.

The New Zealand Nutrition Foundation aka ANZOS has helped so many people for keeping a healthy diet. The ANZOS has definitely with my speech because they are an organization that is based around keeping people mentally and physically fit and healthy.

33% of deaths annually are caused by heart disease, (It is the leading cause of death in New Zealand and includes heart, stroke and blood vessel disease).
Every 90 minutes A New Zealander Dies from heart disease, many of these deaths are premature and preventable.

What can we do to prevent heart disease? Don't eat too many chips or any unhealthy products. Don't drink too many unhealthy drinks because it’s just sugar and has no nutritional value for us and STOP the gaming because you can become obese if you don't burn off your kilojoules and calories that you have everyday.

New Invention

It is a treadmill in a simulation room. This treadmill has an up, down and straight option. Once you've pressed a button, say you pressed up, it would send a message to the simulator and it would show you running up a mountain and then the treadmill lifts up and it's like your actually running up a mountain.

How it works? Well, of course, there’s a treadmill and it’s in a simulation room, the screen will either show you running up, down or straight then on the treadmill button thing there’s 3 switches one’s to go up one’s to go down and one’s to go straight.

Who’s going to use it? Well, I think it will probably get used at gyms and if I actually made it I would definitely send it to gyms.

When? Well, I think it would be invented maybe in 2025 because newer technology is getting invented every couple of months and who knows what will be invented by 2025!
